MEET THE CANDIDATE

The son of an army infantryman, Patrick Cloutier spent his formative years living in places from Hawaii to England before choosing McKinney, Texas as his home. He moved here in 1996 with his wife, Vonda—who he has now been married to for 34 years—and their three beautiful daughters, Caroline, Madeleine, and Meredith, who all grew up in McKinney and graduated from McKinney High School.

Meredith now lives in the Dallas area, while Caroline and Madeleine — as well as his granddaughters, Eleanor, Annie, and Charlotte — live in McKinney. Madeleine works alongside Patrick at his practice, Legacy Planning Group, where Patrick serves as financial advisor and Madeleine as client relationship manager. Being the heart of the city, Patrick moved the business to the historic downtown McKinney square in 1998, and there the two help clients plan for and navigate successful retirements.

Patrick’s early years in McKinney were spent with equal devotion to growing his business and staying involved with his family’s many activities—he’s been everything from a volleyball coach to volunteering at Project Graduation. Patrick and Vonda are currently members of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church.

After joining the Chamber of Commerce in 2010, Patrick found a passion for getting involved in programs across his city. He quickly immersed himself in the Leadership McKinney program: Patrick is a proud graduate of the Leadership McKinney Class of 2013, served as co-chair of the program’s selection committee for three years, and was honored as the McKinney Leadership Alumni of the Year along with Jason Hernandez in 2021. Patrick is also a past chair and board member of Volunteer McKinney, a previous member of the McKinney Board of Adjustment and the McKinney Census 2020 Committee, and served three years on the McKinney Economic Development Corporation board of directors. Finally, in January 2022, Patrick was elected to serve on the McKinney City Council, At-Large.

McKinney is a special place to live, and Patrick feels blessed to know so many wonderful people across the city that help make it great. It’s his prayer and hope that this campaign leads to more friendships and that his service on council helps to further advance this city that we all love.
